As fall approaches, transitions are happening at WWA. We’re sad to announce the departure of two of our team members and wanted to take the opportunity to thank them for their efforts to protect Wyoming’s public wildlands. JJ McGinnis, our Communications and Development Director, is moving to Colorado while his partner pursues a Masters degree at the University of Denver. Matthew Cuzzocreo, after three years of serving as our Red Desert Organizer, has recently accepted the Senior Wildlife Conservation Associate position with the Greater Yellowstone Coalition.

Matt Cuzzocreo has served as our Red Desert Community Organizer out of Lander since 2020. Matt has played a pivotal role building relationships and working with partners on legislative and administrative protection campaigns within the Red Desert, as well as helping steward and grow Run the Red into a regionally known trail race. Before joining WWA, Matt’s professional and educational background had been centered around wildlife conservation, and he is excited to accept a position that is explicitly focused on those pursuits. We look forward to working with Matt as in his new role on our Bridger-Teton and Shoshone campaigns. Matt's last day will be Aug. 31st.

JJ was born and raised in Sheridan Wyoming, and with a wealth of marketing experience and skills he was a welcome addition to our WWA team. JJ hit the ground running since joining WWA in late 2020; he redesigned our website, grew our film festivals and other events, social media presence, and was an invaluable daily resource to our team members working in remote office locations. We are excited for his next chapter and can’t wait to have him back in Wyoming when the timing is right. JJ's last WWA event will be Run The Red, on Wyoming Public Lands Day.

WWA is currently accepting applications to fill both of these important positions. WWA offers a competitive salary, health benefits, flexible work schedules, and a fun and passionate work environment. Please share this opportunity with interested candidates. Thank you for all of your support for our staff and our work at WWA!

Left to Right: Matt Cuzzocreo, JJ McGinnis
