About the event

Refered to as ‘the Golden Triangle,’ the Little Sandy nominated ACEC is a magic zone along the sagebrush flats and western foothills of the Wind River Mountains encompasses the highest density of greater sage-grouse anywhere in the world, a significant portion of the longest mule-deer migration corridor in the world, and important big game winter range. This area also holds important Traditional Ecological Knowledge and is still used by the Eastern Shoshone & Northern Arapaho for cultural practices that have been ongoing for thousands of years.

If you’d like to learn more and experience this place yourself, please join us and Tom Christiansen for a sunrise sage-grouse lek(mating ground) viewing during the last two weeks of April! Contact Lauren Marsh, our BLM Organizer if you are interested: lauren@wildwyo.org. (Important! Attendance will be limited. Exact location and dates will be determined a few days prior to the outing, according to road conditions and weather).
