"Public Land Management History of Conflict and Collaboration with Native Tribes"


In this first session in a three-part webinar series, Autumn will discuss how the history and management of public lands have impacted tribes.  The talk will provide historic examples that represent both conflict and collaboration with respect to public land stewardship with a specific emphasis on western states and Wyoming.


Autumn Bernhardt has over twenty years of experience in environmental matters and has worked as an entrepreneur, professor, and attorney. Autumn served as Colorado Assistant Attorney General in the Federal and Interstate Water Unit and as Assistant Tribal Attorney for the White Mountain Apache Tribe. Professor Bernhardt began teaching at a community college in 2011 but over the years has also taught graduate and law school students. Through Red Leaf Professional Contracting, Autumn focuses on environmental consulting, as well as mediation and facilitation.
