► What is 1% For the Planet

1% for the Planet is an alliance of companies that donate 1% of their net revenue to environmental organizations worldwide. The Wyoming Wilderness Association is now one of the many organizations who is approved by 1% to receive these donations. Through 1%'s grants and philanthropy they encourage responsible businesses and corporate responsibility. 1% for the Planet is designed to help its members become sustainable businesses.1% members support nonprofit organizations that are engaged in efforts to minimize our negative environmental impact and work toward restoring the health of our home.

Mission Statement: 1% For The Planet is an alliance of businesses committed to leveraging their resources to create a healthier planet. Members recognize their responsibility to and dependence on a healthy environment and donate at least 1% of their annual sales to environmental organizations worldwide.

► How Can You Help
Any company/business can sign up to be part of this wonderful campaign for the environment and we encourage you who are business owners to participate by becoming a member of 1% for the Planet. You can join by sending an email expressing interest to info@onepercentfortheplanet.org or call the 1% FTP staff (978) 462-5353. Once you become a member of 1% for the Planet you can select the Wyoming Wilderness Association as the environmental group to which you wish to donate 1% of your net revenue and be a responsible business by contributing to our efforts. 1% also has a database on their website www.onepercentfortheplanet.org where you can see a list of the environmental groups who are eligible to receive corporate grants from 1% members.

For those of you who are not business owners, we encourage you to help by doing business with members of 1% for the Planet -- list of the members. Please also encourage those businesses who you support to become members if they are not already.

► Benefits of Being a Member
Membership in 1% For The Planet identifies environmentally committed companies to each other and affords opportunities for creative pooling of intellectual resources, both for marketing and for information sharing to learn about the best practices for minimizing environmental harm in all aspects of business. 1% FTP members will be invited to workshops regarding sustainability, use of environmentally sensible materials, marketing methods, etc. You will also receive a newsletter and your business may be highlighted by 1% FTP on their website and in informational materials. Using the 1% logo on your products and on your materials will demonstrate that you and your business are part of the solution, rather than just part of the problem.
