Tony is the BLM Outreach Coordinator for WWA based out of Lander. The primary focus of his work pertains to advocating for a balanced agency management approach for the undeveloped BLM lands, Wilderness Study Areas, Citizens’ Wilderness Proposal Areas, Wild and Scenic Rivers and others, throughout the state. Through public outreach and education, he works to bring awareness to issues surrounding these important places.
Prior to joining WWA in the July of 2011, Tony completed a graduate degree in Natural Resource Management at the University of Idaho. He spent 5 years guiding multi-day bicycle trips for Trek Travel throughout the US and Canada and has worked as a Wilderness Ranger in the Gros Ventre Wilderness in northwest Wyoming. His passion for wild places and desire to be a voice for them led him to pursue work in conservation advocacy. Tony ultimately wants to make sure that generations yet to come have plenty of wild places to explore, discover and benefit from.
Tony grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism. He is a fervent lover of desert canyon country and enjoys mountain biking, backpacking, reading and playing in the snow.
